Cream puff pastry & a proud au pair
I really missed the kids when I was sick! After taking care of them for so long I have a very different relationship with them so it feels weird when I don't see them for a while. I always appreciate their cute comments and Daniel didn't disappoint me when I came back to work. When we were at the library I picked up a new book and he said "I love that author!". Their mom always says the name of the author and illustrator when she reads books to them and I love how they have picked up on that. Daniel is just learning how to read but can already recognize some of the names of his favorite authors! Daniel also told me he had gotten to hold his baby brother - "He is so light that I can hold him high up in the air above my head with just one hand!" - haha! One of my favorite things to do this fall has been to pick him up from school because his new class are SO cute together. After Spanish they always sit on the stairs outside of the school and talk while waiting for us nannies/au pairs/ parents to cross them off the pick-up list. And they always yell BYEEEE to each other when we all walk our seperate ways :)
Picking up Amanda is also fun because I get to hear about the drama that goes on in third grade ;) She often doesn't even say hi when she jumps in the car, she just goes straight for the stories. It can be everything from the boys in her class finding women's underwear in school or Amanda getting a small injury in gym class. Oh the drama! ;) haha. We went to see Amanda's school play just before Thanksgiving. It's always so much fun watching her perform no matter if it's singing, playing music or theater. She perfers the concerts because she's more comfortable with that, but I think she did great in the play! I'm always such a proud au pair in those moments! Especially since she never expects me to be there and is so happy when she sees me,
In November I took a Cream puff pastry and fillings class. It was fun learning how to make this yummy treat, but it was boring how the teacher did everything and all of us could only watch :/ the result was nice though! Take a look at these pictures! ;)

Eeeeverybody loves Snickers!

The newest member of my host family

I went to Whole Foods to get flowers for Amanda's teachers that they got after the play

Amanda in the school play

Her second role, I even think she had a third actually!

Daniel highly dislikes loud sounds so he covered his ears during the applauds. Of course his little brother had to do the same ;) haha
