Nothing that a red rose can't fix
Santa Lucia day was the time of year when I started to miss Swedish Christmas a ton. I got the same feeling last year, since there are certain traditions that Americans don't celebrate. And if they do, they don't always do it in the same way as us. Santa Lucia day is on December 13th and a big part of Swedes getting into the holiday spirit. It's interesting how late in December the Californians get into the holiday spirit and how quick it goes away. I am sure it has to do with the weather. There is just something magical about snow that makes you think about Christmas. And as it gets very cold in Sweden we heat up our houses and walk around in big, warm and cozy clothes. It just helps to have that atmosphere because when it's sunny almost all year around it's hard to see what is special with every season. So on Lucia day I just laid in bed, with pouring rain outside watching Santa Lucia performances which always airs on TV and is a big thing at school and churches. Afterwards I tried to figure out more about how the fiancé visa process worked but neither me or Nick had enough patience for it. We didn't feel good that day but it cheered me up when Nick came into the room singing "You are my sunshine" ;) hihi
We decided to put the visa stuff on hold and instead watch some of my old home movies. Nick loves watching those :D This time I was finally brave enough to show videos where you can see me dancing up close. So far Nick had seen videos where I am just a spot on the dance floor among other dancers :P It's just different to sit next to the person who is watching you dance. On stage I don't care much because I can hardly see the audience anyways. Luckily Nick was happily surprised at how good I am :P He said "You've been building it up so much that now I got to see you live up to it" ;) lol
Me and Daniel love going to the corner bakery. The last time we went there we had such a different discussion. We were talking about American football (have never even heard him mention that before) and how his spaghetti was the ocean, the onions were fish, macaronies were ship wrecks and the meatball a whale ;) That made it more fun for him to eat it too!
That same night I was on my way to Amanda's school concert that I had been looking forward to. I always enjoy watching her perform and this would be the last time! She even asked me to come. But then I got into a car accident and was too shaken up to stay so I went home, cleaned up the house and then waited for Nick to come and pick me up after he was done working. I took the car to the repair shop the next day. I wasn't exactly happy after this incident but the next day I told both of the big kids that I had been in my first ever car accident. And Daniel said "If you don't get into car accidents very often it means you're a good driver"... naaw <3 He made me feel so much better.
The next day I was still bummed out about it, plus I had to go to the doctor late at night after work. Shitty day to say the least so I wasn't in the best mood. But when Nick came home after work and handed me a rose I forgot all about it xD

You know these two are close when you wake up and see Reese biting Nick in the leg! Haha!

Hahaha Snickers <3

Figuring out the fiancé visa - I'll let the picture speak for itself

Doing Amanda's science project. I was so happy when she asked me to help her with it :)

Love this <3

Interesting way of using the kitchen...

Such a cute print in the road that I saw one day when picking up Daniel from school

Took Daniel to the hairdresser, just like I did with Amanda a few days earlier :)

Brother and sister

For some reason Reese got very interested in catching the lights on our TV xD he's never cared about them before so why start now?
