Cleaning out his closet - I'm moving in!!
Since I only had a few days left of working as an au pair it was time to move in with Nick :D I mean, I had technically lived there for months but half of my stuff was still in Mountain View. It's funny to think of how I imagined my travel month to be before I met Nick. I had a long bucket list of places I wanted to see in America. Texas, New York, Lake Tahoe, Hawaii, Montana, Las Vegas... and don't even get me started on the specific places like museums, National parks, historical sights, Graceland etc. I was basically going to squeeze in everything that I could and then come back to the U.S. for vacations as often as possible. Because I love this country! But since I am marrying Nick and will have plenty of time to see these places I wanted to spend my travel month just staying at his house :) I can't wait to go on weekend trips and vacations to these destinations that I have on my bucket list. It'll be twice as fun to do that with him!!
Ever since Nick moved into his bedroom about 8 years ago he says he has never cleaned out his closet. And we definitely needed to make more space for my things in there. So we turned on the Christmas music and got busy sorthing through every little thing in there. While I spent 2 hours cleaning out half of Nick's closet he did our laundry, washed the bed sheets and spent three hours making an awesome dinner for us. I would have loved to get the closet all cleaned out but it took longer than expected and we decided to call it a night.
The next day we went to Jon's house so that he, Nick and Tyler could jam for a while. Afterwards we didn't think we'd have the energy to keep cleaning out the closet but we got through it! It sure wasn't easy because it is a pretty boring task. But for me it was fun to see Nick's old memorabilia and things from when he was a kid. Nick had recently gotten rid of some clothes that he didn't need and was sure that he had nothing more to throw away. But two days later we had three garbage bags FULL of clothes and old things that he didn't want to keep, haha :P Nick is definitely learning how much I love organizing! When we were finally done we looked up at the closet and were impressed at how great it looked!! Wow! Even several days afterwards Nick came up to me saying "Damn that closet looks great, I'm so glad we did that!" haha :D That made me happy because he hadn't been super excited about it at first :P
As a reward I made hot sandwhiches with mushroom stew on that Nick really liked. Then we went to see a house a couple of blocks away that has Christmas decorations which lights up with the music that is playing. It's quite the show and a lot of people were there to watch it! Since I suffered from a weird out-of-body feeling for weeks after the car accident and I had read that keeping calm and drinking warm beverages helps, Nick decided to go to Starbucks and get us some hot chocolate. Too sweet and exactly what I needed! :)
YouTube has the best Christmas playlists ;)

Here we go! I had no idea how much work I had ahead of me here :P I thought we'd be done within an hour or two.

When Nick cooks for three hours you know you're in for one hell of a yummy dinner. Gosh, his homemade mashed potatoes... I could almost die for it!!

We adore our new electric blanket that Dave bought for us!

Jammin'!

Haha that's a place to hang to microphone too ;)

Back to business!

All done!

And I brought even more of my stuff over a couple of days later...

My time to make dinner :) although Nick cooked the meat ofc ;) haha

Mmm hot chocolate!!

Feeling happy and accomplished!!!!
