My last Saturday in San Jose was spent being lazy in bed all day. We ate the biggest size of Togo's sandwiches that we could get, since I knew I'd miss them like crazy in Sweden. We watched "Hey Arnold", took a nap and then did our laundry. We were both still pretty up and down in our mood. Grumpy about me leaving in one moment and in the next moment just enjoying being together. But we made a deal to go all out for my good bye party in the evening and truly enjoy every moment of it. Of course my good bye party had to be at our favorite place Effie's. So I invited our closest friends and was thrilled that everyone (except for Petronella and Indy :( ) could be there. Normally all of us don't hang out in one big group like this since we all have our own lives, but they really made an effort to come and see me one last time. Cecily and James were so tired and not up for partying and yet they stopped by for a short while which I appreciated. Even Rob made a surprise visit even though he said he couldn't make it!

 

We dressed up real fancy because we wanted to make the most of our night. When we got to Effie's several people asked us if we just came from a funeral, lol! They're not really used to people being THAT dressed up at a karaoke bar. We kind of laughed with sad looks on our faces and said "Well yeah actually, sort of".

 

I really didn't give a damn about what anyone around me thought that night. I danced like crazy, sang along to the songs and had such a great time with all of our friends and Nick. It was the best party I could have asked for. Everything was perfect. And I got a dollar for good luck by Julie, the wonderful bartender who is always so kind. Neda and Noah gave us a ride home and we stopped by Jack in the Box to get something to eat. Then Petronella came to the house, can't remember if it was the same night or the morning after. But since she couldn't come to the party she wanted to drop by to give me a hug good bye and a present :) it was a framed picture of us from when we were dressed up to go a BBQ at Nick's house. I remember what a wonderful summer's day it was and how excited I was to introduce her to Nick for the first time. A couple of days ago I had picked up the present that I was going to give to Nick. He knew it was laying in our bedroom but had let it be of course. So I took the opportunity to show Petronella the present when he was in the kitchen and she thought it was really nice :)
