To live or not to live in California
I recently found out just how expensive Northern California is to live in. When I moved here my LCC explained that this is the most pricey area of the whole United States but WOW! I started asking around to see what people were paying for apartments. 2000 dollars/month or more!!! WHAT?? You can get an appartment like that in Sweden for 400-500 dollars/month. That is one thing I miss about my home country. How easy it is to just move from home, live on your own in quite a big apartment. Some people live their whole lives in those apartments and it's really nice. Me and Nick actually looked into moving to Oregon. I was completely against the idea at first because I wasn't even sure where Oregon was, lol. I was sure that it was somewhere in the middle of nowhere. with no water in sight, just boring old landscape and boring people. But when I googled it I actually liked it. The weather is more like Swedish weather, it's not as expensive as California and it's located just above California so it would be easy to visit our friends and Nick's family. But after some research we realized that it won't work with his job at UPS. He's working on becoming a UPS driver but if he got a job at UPS in Oregon he would have to start all over again and work his way to the top. After all of his hard work and considering how close he is to his goal, moving away is not an option. I love California so much though, that I don't mind staying here at all. Even if we'll have to work extra hard to get our own place and make a living it's worth it in the end. With him working for UPS and me as a nanny we can make do just fine. And if everything for some reason would go straight to hell, like the economy crashes again or a disaster strikes, then we always have safe little Sweden to go to until things are okay again.
I feel like I'm turning more American and Nick is turning more Swedish for every day that goes by. I used to be the one to completely mess up a word that I was trying to say by mixing it with Swedish pronunciation, but now he does it too. Nick has gotten real good at recognizing sounds in the Swedish language so even if he can't speak more than a few sentences, he often imitates the sound. I'm turning his brain completely upside down with this Scandinavian stuff :P Other than that the days go by in a wonderful pace. I work during the days, hang out with Nick at night and we go on adventures during the weekends! Although we got stuck in bed for like a month binge-watching all seasons of "Breaking Bad". Nick had already seen all of the episodes several times. But damn that's a good show!
Cutest thing said by the kids this week:
Matteo and I played that there were monstes and ghosts coming after us in a tunnel.
Me - "Oh no the monsters are coming?? What if I get scared?"
Matteo - "You're not gonna be scared with me."
I took Daniel to the Junior museum again after school one day. This little one was there to greet us!

Our new thing after swim class has been to take Daniel to a restaurant and have lunch :) We hang out there until it's time to get Amanda from her school.

It's not often that I get all three kids smiling in one photo but here is a great one :)

Super moon!

This one is quite the monkey when he decides to climb! He's been really good at climbing ever since he started doing it!

I went with the two big kids to a ceramic studio so they could be a bit creative. I loved how the owner had decorated the place :)

My Swenglish California guy ;) I bet those kind of guys are pretty rare!
