Three years since the terror attack in Norway
I have always loved the sister/brother relationship between Norway and Sweden. It doesn't matter how much we tease one another and get angry when we for some rare reason don't give the other country points in the Eurovision Song Contest. We are too similar not to love each other and we stick together as much as possible. So when Anders Behring Breivik decided that a large group of people didn't deserve to live becuase they didn't have the same narrowminded opinions as he did; we all came together and fought his hate with love. It would have been easy to declare war against him and his supporters (who he says exists, but I am starting to believe that it's just his imaginary little friends) but we chose a different tactic..
It's very hard to fight someone who isn't fighting back. It's hard to give hate to a large crowd of people who are raising roses to the sky while singing about how much they love their small but beautiful country. It's hard to discourage them when their sisters and brothers from Sweden stand by their side every step of the way. Our countries are glued together, we speak almost the same language and we have an unbreakable bond. No matter how many racists there are among us, we outnumber them and can take them on. So if you are reading this and thinking about doing the same thing as Breivik, just know that we are not going to fight you with hate. We are going to fight you with love. Because you need that more than anyone.
