Saturday morning
Saturday - 9am
What a night. You can hear everything through these thin walls so it wasn't easy to fall asleep with emergency vehicles blasting their sirens on Santa Monica boulevard, people in the room next door playing music in the middle of the night for some reason, and a couple next door whose toddler stayed awake until 1 am whining and crying. But when you're in a place like this you just got to adapt :P I woke up because it sounded like there was a storm outside - the wind was blowing so hard. Don't know what that was all about but yeah... I did actually get a good nights of sleep and now I'm ready to go outside and spend my day in West Hollywood. Can't believe I'm here.
I'm stoked to say that the next time I'm in LA my sister will be here with me. I hate being a tourist by myself because I feel stupid picking up the camera. But when you'e with someone else you can look ridiculous together ;) My plan for the day is to quickly just walk by Kat Von D's tattoo shop because I have a dream to get a tattoo made by her at the end of my second year. If I can afford it I'd be so happy because she's the best portrait tattoo artist so it would be cool to get something as a memory from my time as an au pair. Then I will drop by the Forgotten Saints store at Melrose Ave. That is where the bass player of Black Veil Brides, Ashley Purdy, sells his collection of really cool rock n roll clothes. After that it's Hollywood boulevard for the rest of the day. I can imagine that the walk of fame and all of those places will keep me busy for hours! I won't walk up to the Hollywood sign though. I think me and Josefine will do that one of the days when we're in Los Angeles because that would be awesome. This evening I will see Hardcore Superstar play at Whisky a go go. I've seen them perform in Sweden maybe five times so this will be great. I live only a 15 minute walk from Whisky. Crazy to think I will be there so soon. For someone who is very into rock n roll this is a magical place. It's got an amazing history and the whole area around it with The Viper Room adds up to a pretty rad place. I remember hearing a story about Guns N Roses first gig... Although I'm not sure if it was at Whisky a go go or the Rainbow Room. They were going to play their first gig there but the band couldn't find Axl just before the show. Eventually one of the people from their managment team walked outside, looked up, and saw Axl sitting above the entrance sign meditating...
