Japanese Tea Garden and Strawberry Hill

Our very last stop for the weekend was the Japanese Tea Garden in the Golden Gate Park :) It would have been enough to spend half an hour there but we stayed much longer, so me and Isabella ended up chillin on a bench because we were so tired. Before going home we all walked over to Strawberry Hill real quick to see Stow Lake. Even though it sure was beautiful many of us Europeans were pretty confused about the color of the water.

The group - Uhhm, why is the water green?
Guide - Well, it's normal that a lake is green isn't it?
The group - Uhhm, no...

Haha, I don't know what kind of lakes he's used to there in San Francisco but I wouldn't dip my foot in it. If a lake is green or brown in Europe it means that it's dirty. Although I read online that the lake is manmade so that might be the explanation ;)

At the end of the day I couldn't believe how much we'd been walking that weekend. They had told us in advance to bring money for public transportation so we thought that we would need quite a lot. Yeah right. All we used was 2 dollars for the bus back to the train station on our last day, and that was it!! So in total we walked 6 hours on Saturday and 6 hours on Sunday. And that does not include the 1½ hour lunch breaks or the 4 hours per day it took me to travel back and forth to San Francisco. But it was so worth it and I think it's too bad that these courses no longer will be available for au pairs after this spring!
